If you want to learn of Morana’s past from her lips, only read the Quick Past to get a very basic idea of who this lady is.

If  you’d like a much longer read, go ahead and skip Morana’s Quick Past, and start by reading Illyana’s Beginning. All of this is Illyana’s past before you would have met her. It’s possible you could have met her with in certain points within the past I have described, you just need to tell me from when you would have known her so I’m not caught off guard in RP.

[This was all made as of 9/15/2024 so if anything comes out that’s similar afterward you can see that I have similar mind sets.Since that has happened in the past and I shall not be redoing Akao a second time.]

Morana’s Quick Past

Morana, a devoted guardian to her Queen and a figure she regards almost as a sister despite their lack of biological ties, has always fiercely protected her charge. If she were of noble blood, she might never have been allowed to become the formidable woman she is today. Recently, however, she has been sent away from her Queen’s direct protection. Now, she is tasked with representing her Queen abroad, even though it is not her Queen who has assigned her this duty.

Morana is a woman of refinement and civility, adept at navigating most situations with grace. However, when faced with rudeness, she swiftly puts others in their place, whether through her sharp wit or her impressive combat skills. She wields a variety of weapons, from a massive bastard sword to a pair of twin blades, and is also skilled in the use of her claws. Despite her mastery, she often finds the customs of other nations peculiar compared to the Kingdom she knows.

Nevertheless, her mission remains her priority. Although she sometimes enjoys seeing the surprise in people’s eyes when they first see her, especially when they underestimate her, she never loses focus. Her role as a Beast Master only amplifies her presence, commanding formidable creatures that add to the awe and respect she commands.

The Birthright of the Queen's Guardian

On the day the new Princess was born, so too came the arrival of her Royal Guardian from the esteemed Avira family. This lineage has long been devoted vassals to the crown, leading the Kingdom's military with unwavering loyalty. Morana, born as one of twins, was distinct from her sibling, who resembled their parents more closely. Morana's striking appearance—with her jet-black fur and purple eyes—set her apart, but among the Aviras, this was no cause for concern.

Instead, her birth was met with great celebration, as those with her distinctive appearance in the past had achieved legendary status and made substantial contributions to the Kingdom. Notably, the original founder of the Avira family shared her striking fur and eye color, and even more intriguingly, the same hair color. The Kingdom reveled in the arrival of another Night Leopard. Leapord!

Amidst this jubilation, a rumor circulated within her family: Morana might be the reincarnation of the first founder. This speculation stirred excitement and concern about what such a revelation could mean for both the family and the Kingdom. Consequently, her upbringing would be approached with great care.

As one of twins, Morana was selected by the Queen and King to be their sole heir’s protector, given that the Queen could no longer bear children. With the nation’s tradition of matriarchal leadership, it was evident that Morana was best suited to safeguard the future leader. Consequently, the Queen and King desired for the Guardian and Princess to grow up together. They were transparent with Morana about her origins, and her parents and family played a significant role in her upbringing.

Despite her role, Morana never viewed the Princess as anything less than a sister and saw the King and Queen as extended family, albeit ones deserving of immense respect. As young cubs, the girls often engaged in mischief, with Morana’s adventurous spirit leading them into various escapades, always bringing the Princess along. Even during lessons, they would pass secret notes and, at times, Morana would sneak the Princess away to watch her family train with the blade.

Morana borrowed two wooden practice swords to begin teaching the Princess the art of swordsmanship. Although her primary role was to protect the Princess, Morana believed it was essential for her to know how to wield a sword herself, in case she couldn’t be by the Princess's side. It was unusual for a Queen to be proficient with a blade, as their focus traditionally lay in potent magic—a skill that Morana was not trained in, as her training was concentrated on mastering all manner of blades.

When not occupied with their studies or mischief, Morana and the Princess often ventured into the city, accompanied by other guardians due to Morana's young age and the need for additional protection. During these outings, they mingled with the people they were destined to serve. They never concealed their identities, using this transparency to discern who genuinely wished to be their friends, rather than those who sought friendship merely because of their high status.

Both Morana and the Princess were determined to form friendships based on sincerity rather than social rank. They wanted to demonstrate to the common people that neither nobility nor common birth would afford them special treatment. This approach was met with resistance from the King, who, coming from outside the kingdom, preferred that his daughter’s friends be of high status to ensure her elevation and strength. He attempted to persuade the Queen to align with him, arguing that most of the Princess’s friends should come from influential backgrounds rather than those he considered inferior or weaker.

To the King's dismay and shock, the Queen steadfastly allowed her daughter to choose her own friends, despite the King’s attempts to persuade her that certain individuals would be more suitable based on their status. The Queen remained committed to ensuring that the Princess's friends, regardless of their backgrounds, would be trustworthy and supportive.

She also ensured that the future Queen would have a robust support system, comprising loyal advisors, wise mentors, and steadfast defenders who could not be easily swayed against her. These people would also work in hand with Morana sadly sooner then anyone would  know.
